The BlackBerry Curve 8900 is currently one of the best selling cell phones in the US and for many good reasons too. Firstly, it is one of the thinnest full QWERTY keyboard BlackBerry phone in the market. It measures at 4.2 x 2.3 x 0.5 inches and weighs in at 3.8 ounces. It feels very solid and well constructed, especially when compared to the older models. Overall, it was very comfortable to use, whether it is for messaging or to make calls.
The BlackBerry Curve 8900 comes with a 2.4-inch display screen (not a touch screen) that proved to be quite sufficient. It has a 480 x 360 resolution and displayed vibrant and sharp images. Below the screen, you will fine the standard call buttons, the QWERTY keyboard and a track ball that was very convenient to use while surfing the web. Since the phone is a little smaller than the older models, the keys on the keyboard are also a little tinier.
This new model comes with a variety of new features such as the Documents to Go Suite that lets you edit PowerPoint, Word and Excel files. The BlackBerry Curve 8900 also has a full HTML browser that lets you access a variety of online content such as RSS feeds and YouTube video clips. To access online content, you can choose between the EDGE or wi-fi network. This model does not support 3G
connectivity. The multimedia features were quite decent with its versatile media player and the 3.2MP camera even comes with a flash. You can get about 5.5 hours of talk time out of the batteries and it has about 14.5 days in standby time.
